Literary criticism... What is that exactly?? Many people view it in different ways, some think its a postive action and some think its a negative action. The small blurbs printed on the backs of books are good examples of literary criticism. They are written by other authors, they comment the work of literature that your about to read. I think they serve a good purpose in that instance because they give us - the reader- a little insight on the authenticity of the author the book. These blurbs provide the reader with the thoughts and views of the work your about to read. Sometimes this form of literary criticism boost the image of the author and make the book sell. Most of us are familar with movie reviews. At times these reviews seem to be a little bit too harsh. These reviews can make or break a movie. If the movie receives enough bad reviews it can determine the out come of the movie audience. All of us want to see a good movie and if we hear a movie isn't as great as it should be enough times, we decide not to see it. In cases such as this a bad review can cause movie to make very little money.

One of my favorite books is Twilight by Stephanie Meyers. Many of you may be familar with it since it became a huge motion picture. Overall I thought that it was an amazing book. It told one of the most romantic, thrilling, wanting love story I have ever heard. But it not a perfect book, it does contain some flaws. Meyers writes the story and most of the series in the first person view of the main character Bella. through out the book Bella expresses her thoughts just about everything. Sometimes she becomes a little overwhelming to the point where she's annoying. I find that this can cause a lost of interest at times. Also sometimes the plot of a particular chapter is dragged on for too long. On a lighter note Meyer uses great amount of description. While reading this book I could practically see the book come to life in my mind. I felt as if i was there watching all the events happen from the sidelines. Meyer creates a relationship among the characters that one can only yearn for. Readers may find themselves feeling loved, sad, jealous, annoyed because the emotions of these characters are so in depth and real.
